Abstract: English summary on page 73 as follows: This bell which was cast in the 3rd year of hung Long, during the reign of Tran Anh Tong (1295), remains intact at Dao Duc village, Vi Xuyen district (Ha Tuyen). it is 1.03m high, having an opening diameter of 0.65m. Its hanger is dragon shaped
high relief lotus petals, big and small intercalated, around six modules and the opening rim, are quite familiar to the art of the Tran dynasty. The epigram on the bell was composed by Buddhist Superior Mat Van, with 309 words carved on four squares around its body. Th contents reveal that the founding was sponsored by a leader - Nguyen Anh and his wife. The Buddhist concept on the clergymen's way of life - to enter the world - is identical to the Buddhist sect of Truc Lam. The bell at Binh Lam pagoda helps in surveying the one at Van Ban pagoda ( Hai Phong ) which was also cast during the Tran dynasty.
